only one oyster left?
Still not very sure how to work this blogspot thing so do bear with me. Went for the buffet spread at Latest Recipe in Le Meridien Hotel the other day. Been hearing about this place for quite some time but never really got the chance to go. So, finally got my wish last week.........

The spread looked fantastic! Was rather excited while I was walking around checking out the food. The oysters, mussels and prawns were really fresh and I could not help but to go back for second helpings! Have wanted to skip the salad because there are so many things to try and I did not want to waste my stomache space on just plain old veggies. But I still could not help myself looking at the pretty concoction of salad dressing in the test tubes. I was so glad that I did because the veggies were so sweet! Hmm.......just like the ones in Australia........btw, you can toss your own Ceasar Salad here so that was quite fun too. =P
hand cream? lotion? it's more salad dressing!
the Northern Indian food spread
the usual cooked food
There are quite a variety of choices here for your choosing. There is the Northen Indian Food spread which I only tried a bite here and there because I was already quite stuffed with food......anyway, have to say it is really tasty and definitely worth a trip back again to have a better sample of it! Did not even get to try the cooked food section because I was so distracted by the other counters.
the Chinese section with the roast meats and noodles
Have actually posted a picture of the Teppanyaki chef at work but I accidentally deleted it and I am just too lazy to upload it back and try to put in place. Like I said, still trying to figure out the blogspot thing so still a bit bad at it. My apologies.
You can get fresh sashimi, sushi and hand rolls from the Japanese counter. They also offer teppanyaki and the chef will cook for you on the spot. You have a choice of prawns, fish, scallops, squid and beef. I cannot say I am a fan of this because the chef did not ask me how I want my beef done and it was rather well done, where got nice? =( The scallops were frozen before they were cooked so it was cooked on the outside but cold on the inside, yuck!
They also have a pasta counter where you can choose your pasta, sauce and ingredients. I opted for the squid ink fettucini and let the chef decide the sauce and ingredients for me which turned out to be a really good choice as the taste was just right!
Another counter that I have missed was the Malay BBQ. Have read in the some of the food blogs that this is not really worth your time so I gave it a miss as I could not eat any more! Hmmm......maybe that was too harsh, think I should give it a chance the next time I go back.
The Chocolate fountain
Candy galore
Desserts table
Of course we cannot miss the desserts section no matter how full we are. =P What is unique about this place is, they offer you Teppanyaki ice cream (sorry, forgot to take pictures). You can choose your fillings from the Candy Box and the chef will mix your fillings with your chosen ice cream using the teppanyaki style. Something different loh......Over here, they also offer you freshly baked(made?toasted? oh watever......) waffles but I felt it was a little too floury for my taste. My friend said it could be because the setting was too high so the insides was not cook, oh well......
I thought the selection of mousse and cakes are quite delicious too but I could only try little bit by little bit because I wanted to try everything and my stomache space was rather limited. Definitely will go back and try again!
Oh, forgot to mention, buffet dinner is about RM88++ per pax and if you have the Starwood card, it's 50% off if there's two of you so more worth it if you have the card. =P
