Dragon-I Restaurant

I love the xiao long baos in Dragon-I so decided to have that for dinner tonight when I was at The Curve. I do have to apologise for the cacat cacat photos, am such a terrible photographer.......

braised peanuts for appertiser

Love those braised (is it braised?) peanuts. Have tried a lot of them in different places and I have to say the ones here have just the right amount of saltiness and taste!

delectable Xiao Long Baos

I think the taste of the Xiao Long Baos in Dragon-I are rather consistent, unlike some places. There is always plenty of soup in the baos (which I loved!) and the meat filling is very soft.

Lai Mien with mushroom and mince meat sauce

Steamed Mince Meat with Foo Yong Egg on rice

Ordered the lai mien with mushroom and mince meat sauce and the steamed mince meat with foo yong egg on rice as well to share. The lai mien was rather tasty with a hint of chilli. The texture of the noodles are just nice but I thought it was a tad dry because there was a lot of mince meat with very little sauce. The noodles comes with a bowl of soup (which is refillable by the way) that has a bit of ginseng taste. By adding a couple spoonfuls of soup into the noodles and it will be just right! As for the rice...........tonight was excellent! The mince meat was soft and tender with a hint of water chestnut and together with the rice (the juice from the meat has obviously infiltrate the rice, being on top of it all), absolute heaven!

Cookies!

Baked some chocolate chip cookies today......wah......think the last time I baked cookies was when I was 16! Can't remember where I got this recipe from but I think it's a little too sweet for me so the next time I make this, I gotta remember to put less sugar!

Chef Rasa Sayang Restaurant, Crystal Crown Hotel

Chinese tea at a constant temperature

Went to Chef Rasa Sayang Restaurant in Crystal Crown the other day because my friend felt like it as he used to be a regular there. As for me, I think the last time I was there was when they first opened eon ago!

Appetiser

Anyway, don't think some people will be very happy with this post of mine but what the hell.......I eat what I want and if you are not happy with it, seriously........what can you do? Anyway, I am a Chinese so not very social concious........I had sharks fin soup. =P I cannot remember when was the last time I had it but boy, was it delicious!

Sharksfin with Crab and Crab Roe

Add VideoMint Sauce?

The soup came with this minty sauce and at first I was rather reluntant to try because I was rather happy with my usual vinegar and pepper. Then I thought, I should try at least a little bit to know if I like it. Woah.........have to say the mint really bring out the taste of the soup, it was so refreshing! Yum yum......slurp slurp........

Seafood Hor Fan

Kailan with Abalone Sauce

Have also ordered the seafood hor fan and Kailan with Abalone Sauce (recommended by the Captain) which were very good too! I was really stuffed but I just could not stop eating because the sauce was so tasty! Delectable is the word.........

Sea Coconut with Longans

So full so full but still could not resist ordering dessert. =P Ordered the sea coconut with longans and it was really light and refreshing. I am coming back!

Latest Recipe, Le Meridien Hotel

only one oyster left?

Still not very sure how to work this blogspot thing so do bear with me. Went for the buffet spread at Latest Recipe in Le Meridien Hotel the other day. Been hearing about this place for quite some time but never really got the chance to go. So, finally got my wish last week.........

Test tubes of?

The spread looked fantastic! Was rather excited while I was walking around checking out the food. The oysters, mussels and prawns were really fresh and I could not help but to go back for second helpings! Have wanted to skip the salad because there are so many things to try and I did not want to waste my stomache space on just plain old veggies. But I still could not help myself looking at the pretty concoction of salad dressing in the test tubes. I was so glad that I did because the veggies were so sweet! Hmm.......just like the ones in Australia........btw, you can toss your own Ceasar Salad here so that was quite fun too. =P

hand cream? lotion? it's more salad dressing!

the Northern Indian food spread

the usual cooked food

There are quite a variety of choices here for your choosing. There is the Northen Indian Food spread which I only tried a bite here and there because I was already quite stuffed with food......anyway, have to say it is really tasty and definitely worth a trip back again to have a better sample of it! Did not even get to try the cooked food section because I was so distracted by the other counters.

the Chinese section with the roast meats and noodles

Have actually posted a picture of the Teppanyaki chef at work but I accidentally deleted it and I am just too lazy to upload it back and try to put in place. Like I said, still trying to figure out the blogspot thing so still a bit bad at it. My apologies.

You can get fresh sashimi, sushi and hand rolls from the Japanese counter. They also offer teppanyaki and the chef will cook for you on the spot. You have a choice of prawns, fish, scallops, squid and beef. I cannot say I am a fan of this because the chef did not ask me how I want my beef done and it was rather well done, where got nice? =( The scallops were frozen before they were cooked so it was cooked on the outside but cold on the inside, yuck!

They also have a pasta counter where you can choose your pasta, sauce and ingredients. I opted for the squid ink fettucini and let the chef decide the sauce and ingredients for me which turned out to be a really good choice as the taste was just right!

Another counter that I have missed was the Malay BBQ. Have read in the some of the food blogs that this is not really worth your time so I gave it a miss as I could not eat any more! Hmmm......maybe that was too harsh, think I should give it a chance the next time I go back.

The Chocolate fountain

Candy galore

Desserts table

Of course we cannot miss the desserts section no matter how full we are. =P What is unique about this place is, they offer you Teppanyaki ice cream (sorry, forgot to take pictures). You can choose your fillings from the Candy Box and the chef will mix your fillings with your chosen ice cream using the teppanyaki style. Something different loh......Over here, they also offer you freshly baked(made?toasted? oh watever......) waffles but I felt it was a little too floury for my taste. My friend said it could be because the setting was too high so the insides was not cook, oh well......

I thought the selection of mousse and cakes are quite delicious too but I could only try little bit by little bit because I wanted to try everything and my stomache space was rather limited. Definitely will go back and try again!

Oh, forgot to mention, buffet dinner is about RM88++ per pax and if you have the Starwood card, it's 50% off if there's two of you so more worth it if you have the card. =P

My first post!

This is it! My first blog post on the net for all to scrutinize and criticize....aiyoh....just the thought of it is making me wanna retreat back to my little shell of complete laziness. =P

Anyway, I love to eat and I love to travel (not as much as I would love to but alas......that is life.....) so this little blog will be about my food (mostly) and whatever "exciting"(it can be rather boring sometimes......I know.....sorry about that) adventures in my life.

Heh.....will see how long this lasts........
